Alba Berlin hires Tyler Cavanaugh

Alba gets a US-American who is versatile. Center Dennis Clifford, on the other hand, leaves Berlin after two years.

Basketball Bundesliga team Alba Berlin has signed former NBA professional Tyler Cavanaugh. The 25-year-old American signed a one-year contract with the capital city club, as Alba announced on Sunday. For the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz, Cavanaugh played 50 games in the North American professional league and most recently also in the development league G-League. It is planned as a power forward as well as a center. “Tyler will fit in well with us because he is very variable,” said sports director Himar Ojeda about the commitment.

After two years with Alba, however, the US center Dennis Clifford will leave the Berliners. On Saturday, the German runner-up had already signed the Swedish winger Marcus Eriksson from the Spanish club Gran Canaria for four years. (dpa)
